Everything started from an observation: bio-waste accounts for 30% of bins and this figure rises to 50% for catering professionals. However, after decomposition, organic waste is transformed into a great source of life and fertility for soils: compost. In Nantes, for lack of solution, the vast majority of bio-waste is still incinerated. Coline Billon has set up a way to promote this waste and she decided to do it by bike. A means of transport that is soft, agile and adapted to urban areas and then creates a social bond and it is possible to attach a trailer to it. She gave hermetic buckets to the restaurateurs and set up a bi-weekly collection with motivated tricycles. After that, the compost grows, waits 6 months for a good maturation and makes the happiness of shared gardens or market gardeners. The loop is complete, the local black gold returns to the ground! Tricyclerie is the only association in France to make this collection of bio-waste. Coline Billon and Valentine Debout (coordinator) would like, following numerous requests, to duplicate the model in new territories (Rennes, Pau, Reunion ..), and have several branches of La Tricyclerie on the territory.
