"Containment begins on the other side of the fence."
"The confinement starts on the other side of the fence" said a father to me at the entrance of the reception area for travellers from Jaux in Picardie. In the midst of the Covid19 epidemic, the daily problems of lack of space, safety and hygiene have taken on a new dimension for the inhabitants of the area. For them, difficult to adhere to a confinement that penalizes them more than it protects them. While many households in the community have to cope with the economic impact of the containment measures, within the area the inhabitants have no protection despite the high degree of promiscuity. This short series of photographs presents the daily life of a community locked outside during a period of confinement.
